Why do we also find quality marks so important?
We are aware that responsible production of home textiles has become an increasingly important aspect in our society. HOOMstyle not only finds it important that products are created in the most sustainable way possible, but we also find it at least as important that our products are produced in an ethically responsible way. That is why we only work with production companies that feel the responsibility to embrace environmentally friendly and ethical methods throughout the entire production process.
For almost 30 years, FSC has made it its mission to restore and protect forests. Wherever in the world, FSC forest management takes place, there is a healthy, living forest. This makes FSC forest management an important instrument against deforestation. By choosing FSC products, you give the forest owner the means to sustainably manage the forest. This also means that forest cannot be converted into areas for palm oil, soy or cattle farming.
Textiles with the OEKO-TEX Standard 100 quality mark have been tested for substances that can be harmful to health, for example due to allergic reactions.
This certification is always used for the end product and therefore indicates that the end product is free of hazardous materials. It was founded in 2003 by amfori, a global business association for open and sustainable trade. Amfori BSCI provides a framework and tools for companies to monitor and improve social performance within their supply chains.
